County Rounds November Update
Buckinghamshire County Schools’ FA – Pokémon Primary Schools’ FA County Round report
The Disraeli School from Wycombe and Gerrards Cross School from Chiltern & South Bucks will go on to represent Buckinghamshire at the South East regional finals of the Pokémon Primary Schools’ Cup, following their victory in the Buckinghamshire county round competition held at Thorpe House School on Saturday 23rd November.
The Disraeli School emerged as county champions in the Pokémon Primary Schools’ Cup after progressing through their qualifying group as winners. In the final, they faced St Mary & All Saints School, who also advanced as winners of their group. The final was a hard-fought contest, with Disraeli taking an early lead. However, a late equaliser from St Mary & All Saints sent the game to penalties. Disraeli kept their composure under pressure and secured victory, earning their place in the regional finals.
In the Pokémon Primary Schools’ Cup girls’ competition, Gerrards Cross School defeated Butlers Court School 2-1 in the semi-final, while St Michael’s progressed to the final with a narrow 1-0 win over William Harding School. The final, played in great spirit in front of a supportive crowd, saw Gerrards Cross claim the county winners’ pennant. Their victory secured a spot in the regional finals, bringing them one step closer to their goal of winning the Pokémon Primary Schools’ Cup.
The ESFA and The Pokémon International Company would like to congratulate all the teams involved and look forward to seeing The Disraeli School and The Gerrards Cross School represent Buckinghamshire in the regional rounds of the competition.
